We left Birmingham at 6:00am. Which was tough getting up, but made for a much better flight for the boys. Because traveling with two little kids is quite tough. I made sure we had snacks, books and new toys for surprises. However, that only goes so far. Lawson and I had purchased an iPad for our 10 year anniversary, so that was a lifesaver. We had a Backyardigans cartoon downloaded, as well as lots of apps suitable for kids. Both boys did great on the plane flight. No problems with ears, no fear of flying. They did have a tough time sitting for so long, but overall did well. And thankfully, everyone was willing to let all of us sit together.

Finally in Seattle and loaded in the rental minivan. We were prepared for cooler weather, but it was downright windy and chilly and overcast when we landed.
Safeco Field
We ate at the popular Seattle eatery...Outback. It was that or Hooters. They were the two restaurants that were closest to our hotel. Although our concierge person at the hotel was quick to tell us that there were no skimpy clad waitresses at Hooters.
Fun at the outback! It was a small Outback. The waitress said that most people eat a local restaurants in Seattle and the only reason Outback was open was because they were in the middle of an area where people walk to and from work. Seattle is a walking/biking community, so we had to watch out for all the pedestrians who did not look to see if a car was coming when they crossed the street. Day one was successful! Despite no naps, the boys were troupers.
