North Carolina

We went to North Carolina the first week we were off for summer break to visit Lawson's sister's family. We had a great time! The cousins loved playing with each other and had tons of fun.

We drove in on Friday to watch Alyssa dance in her dance recital. She was so precious! She kept waving to "Uncle Lawson" and she said she would not dance unless he was in the audience. Four-year-old girls dancing is absolutely precious!!!

Alyssa's dance recital was held at a local community college and after Alyssa danced, we left, since the boys were having a hard time watching the rest of the dancers. The community college had a pond with a path around it as well as an old fashioned grist mill. It was so pretty! And the weather was so nice too. No humidity, no 90 degree temps.

The next morning we hung out around the house and the kids played outside.

Terri was in town and she watched the kids so Seth, Brooke, Lawson and I could go watch a movie and go out for dinner. We went to watch X-Men First Class and then went to dinner at Sweet Onion.

Lawson wanted everyone to know that he was enjoying his vacation.

Brooke and I went to see Bridesmaids one night and Seth and Lawson "watched" the kids. This is what happened. Banana peels everywhere, cracker packages on the floor, toys everywhere, and Lawson and Alyssa drew on the floors and walls with chalk. Because they ran out of paper. The movie was hilarious though! We had fun!

While we were up in NC, our new favorite band, Mumford and Sons, played in Asheville. So, of course, we had to go. Brooke and Seth watched the kids and we were able to go out for dinner at Tupelo Honey Cafe and watch an awesome concert.

This was not our view of him at the concert. The concert was general admission and the doors opened at 7:00. We walked from the restaurant to the concert hall to wait in line. At first we didn't think the line was that long, but after we walked all the way around the block and found the end of the line, we thought we would have terrible seats. We are also thankful that the thunder and lightning that was going on around us while we were standing in line did not produce any rain. Thankfully the concert planners kept everyone in the line and would make anyone who came after the doors opened wait until the end of the line passed them. So out seats were not that bad. And it was a fabulous concert. We can't wait for their new album!
