Lawson's Mother's Day Out had a "Lessons and Carols" program put on by the 3, 4, and 5 year olds. It was precious. I prayed hard the night before that Lawson would not fall out in the floor crying and/or run off the stage. When he first walked up on the stage, he walked closer to the altar that was decorated on the stage. Thankfully he turned around and came back to stand with his classmates. They recited Psalm 23:1 and sang (o.k., it was more like yelling) a song about Mary and Jesus and shepherds. Some of his classmates were dressed up like shepherds with staffs. Kudos to the teachers for not letting Lawson be a shepherd. The staff would have quickly become a light saber or something else that could be swung or jabbed. They also sang "Happy Birthday" to Jesus. Then the other 3-year-old class joined them and they sang "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" and the blew all the parents a kiss. Again, it was more like yelling, but it was so cute! Lawson didn't sing. Even though we had practiced the songs. He just hung out on stage. But he stood where he needed to and did what his teachers wanted him to do and for that I was so proud of him!
