Spring Break-Carney Island

Lawson and I had our spring break a couple of weeks ago and we loaded up the boys and went to Central Florida. Lawson grew up in Florida and still has a lot of family there. We wanted to introduce Judah to Mammaw, Lawson's paternal grandmother. The drive down to Belleview took about 8 hours, with a stop in Gainseville. The boys did great on the ride. We love the DVD player in the van!!!! When we got to Mammaw's on Sunday, we got to see Lawson's aunts Alice and Ann, as well as his Uncle Doug, Aunt Margine and cousins Kent and Ernie, who is 2 years old. I think Baby Lawson overwhelmed him. We had a wonderful dinner and a wonderful time catching up. And Baby Lawson loved hanging out with Aunt Alice! He talked about her all week when he wasn't in her presence. So sweet!!!!

The next day we went to see Lawson took Baby Lawson around for a ride on Mammaw's riding lawn mower. Baby Lawson loved it although by the look on his face you can't tell. He was a little scared and fascinated with it. Then we had to make sure that Judah had a ride as well.

Mammaw still has cows on her property and Lawson loved them! He talked about them all the time. He wanted to see them when we got up and he wanted to know what they were doing when we were gone and he wanted to know what happened when they went night-night.

Lawson's Uncle Bob and Aunt Dottie, who actually live right by Terri and Lawson, so it's funny that we were seeing them in Florida and Lawson's cousins Lori and Mike While we were there, Uncle Bob (I am not going to eat green beans, Bob!) told us about a nature preserve called Carney Island on Lake Weir. We drove out there and it was a fabulous place! The wind was so strong, so that was a bummer, but other than that it was great!

After Carney Island, we went back to Mammaw's. We were able to play outside and see the cows again. Baby Lawson loved playing in the barn. And Lawson got to reminisce about his younger days.
