Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was wonderful this year. We headed to North Carolina on Wednesday to see Grammie and Pawpaw, Brooke, Seth, Alyssa and Jaron. We took Jareal, our friend, with us. After we picked Jareal, we were on our way. We didn't make it that far till we had to stop at Chick-fil-a for breakfast. Judah fell asleep and slept most of the trip. Lawson watched movies. We hit lunch traffic in Atlanta, which wasn't too bad. After we passed ATL, we decided to stop at Toccoa Falls, which is the deepest gorge east of the Mississippi. I had pictures of this, but somehow I deleted them. Oops! After the gorge, we stopped at Wendy's for lunch. Jareal had this huge burger with bacon. The kid loves bacon! After the gorge we stopped to see "Goats on the Roof." It's this random tourist stop on the way to my in-laws. There are several buildings that have goats on the roof. They eat up there and live up there and generally have a good time. There are crafts in the buildings below, as well as goat milk ice cream. We passed on that. While we were there, we hung out around a smoky fire and rocked in rocking chairs. We all smelled like a bar-b-que for the rest of the trip. After Goats on the Roof, we made it to North Carolina! And that commenced the eating. And we ate the entire time we were in NC.

Thanksgiving dawned early! The boys weren't going to sleep in at all. We made a half-hearted attempt to watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. I don't remember what we did after the parade and before we ate. Other than cooking food. We had turkey and ham, mashed potatoes, corn, sweet potato souffle, dressing, deviled eggs (Lawson used to think they were called "doubled eggs', because they were cut in half.), broccoli. Yum! Baby Lawson didn't eat much. We are still working in him eating food. Other than cookies. And gummies. After dinner we watched some football and ate pie. And ate more pie. It was a great day!

The day after Christmas we went to a Christmas Tree farm to pick out a Christmas tree for Lawson and Terri. The lot smelled wonderful. I found a great tree for us, but we have a fake pre-lit tree waiting in the attic for us!

The day we left the kids had a great time running around on the porch. I love how Lawson's hair was bouncing.
