Sixty-four years!

The last weekend in August, Lawson and I loaded up the boys and took them to Mississippi to introduce Judah to my grandparents. It was also their 64th wedding anniversary. We were so glad to be able to go in to see them and celebrate their wonderful marriage.

Yay Mississippi!!!! (Actually, he was saying, "Yay french fries and chicken nuggets!") This is his neck pillow to keep his head from flopping when he falls asleep in the car.

Grandma loved seeing Judah and holding him. She kept saying she wasn't sure she remembered how to hold a baby, but she did great (of course she did!!). Grandpa was impressed with Judah's size. He is a healthy baby. Lawson did great warming back up to them, since it had been several months since he had seen them. Grandma won him over by taking him outside to look for bugs, which are one of Lawson's latest obsessions. The weather was beautiful so both Lawsons spent a lot of time outside. They found a small snake, grub worms, locusts, crickets, grasshoppers, a mole (which are quite interesting animals), and ants (which we found out the hard way that Baby Lawson has localized allergic reactions to them). Lawson also made friends with Scooter, the dog, and generally had a great time running around outside.

We still have Lawson in a crib and we didn't take a Pack and Play with us to Mississippi. We thought he could/would sleep with us. Well, that didn't work so well. Since he is not used to a bed, we can't put him in there and leave. And Lawson is not the type to fall asleep watching TV or when you are holding him late at night. He would stay up till midnight if we let him. So on Saturday we went to get a Pack and Play that Mom would keep at her house. That night when we put him in there, it took him all of 5 minutes to climb out. So...Dad is going to build Lawson a toddler bed and we need to get on the move for training Lawson how to sleep in a "big boy bed".

It was a great first road trip in the mini van. Both boys traveled well. We can't wait to go on another one.
